Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is an ancient light touch natural healing system using univesral life force energy. It is not associated with any religion, culture or belief system. It can be received by anyone who is willing to be healed. Universal life energy flows through all living things, so from a Reiki point of view, disease begins when there is a disturbance to the flow of Ki (energy). A Reiki treatment clears and balances your energy centres or chakras that in turn, inform your nervous system and endocrine glands, that then begins a process of healing at the cellular level in your body. This will also assist in a shift in consciousness, opening your heart centre to experience life with compassion. Reiki healing clears the subtle or etheric energy fields and infuses them with pure light. The result is: you feel better, more energetic, peaceful and relaxed! Treatments: The person receiving the Reiki treatment lies fully clothed on the Reiki table. It is non invasive, no chemicals or needles are used and is painless.The practitioner places her hands lightly on or off the body in a series of gentle hand placements directed at specific areas of the body. Although the hands can be placed on the body, Reiki is not massage, there is no muscle manipulation. Reiki can also be transmitted with no touch by holding the hands a few inches above the body. Thus areas of the body that are too sore to touch or anyone that may have touch issues can still receive a Reiki treatment.
